How to use SpokesPup

What color SpokesPup card should I choose for my dog?

Green: Your dog is okay being approached by people and dogs.
Yellow: Your dog is still learning, but is okay being approached by people and dogs carefully.
Orange: Your dog is okay being approached by people but not other dogs.
Red: Your dog does not want to be approached by people or other dogs.

How do I attach SpokesPup to my dog's leash?

First confirm that your leash is a compatible size. Flat leashes between 1/2" - 1 ½” in width and rope leashes up to 3/4" in diameter work best. Next snap open SpokesPup and center the leash in the grooves. Close SpokesPup and snap it by pressing down on the snaps from both sides and securing the edges.

Should I mix and match SpokesPup cards?

We suggest sticking to one type of card at a time. Simply choose the right SpokesPup card for your dog, insert it into the leash tag on both sides, and you're set. While you can always change your mind, displaying only one type of card at a time helps avoid confusion.

Orders typically take 24-48 hours to process and standard shipping is USPS ground. This can take 3-7 business days depending on where you are located in the U.S. If you need to receive your item quicker please select expedited shipping. Sorry, we do not create custom cards. This is to maintain consistency with our 4 SpokesPup cards. Please consult our SpokesPup guide below to see which cards work best for your dog's needs.

Which dog leashes work with SpokesPup?

Flat leashes up to 1 ½” wide
Rope and chain leashes with diameters of up to 3/4"
For very narrow or thin leashes, simply tie a knot below the desired attachment point.

How far away can you see SpokesPup?

SpokesPup's bright colors can be seen 75+ feet away. The bold phrases and simple icons can be seen 20+ feet away.

How will others understand SpokesPup?

Each SpokesPup card was designed to be easily understood at a glance by using bright colors, simple icons, and bold phrases to tell others how your dog should be approached.

Is SpokesPup waterproof?

Yes, the Leash Tag and SpokesPup cards are waterproof!

Troubleshooting

Help with retractable leashes

SpokesPup works best with retractable leashes that have a flat leash portion either for the entire length or at the end of the leash. Simply snap SpokesPup onto the flat portion of the leash. For thin cord designs tie a knot below where you want to display SpokesPup and snap it above the knot.

Help with rope leashes

SpokesPup works best with rope leashes up to 3/4" in diameter. If you are having trouble attaching SpokesPup to your rope leash, please confirm the diameter of the rope leash. Significantly larger rope leashes don't work as well with SpokesPup.
